Reach Up! Reach In! Reach Out!

About Us

Floresville United Methodist Church offers many opportunities for praise, fellowship,
mission work, and spiritual growth. We are growing in faith by praising God with our prayers,
our presence, our gifts, our service, and our witness.

Our Vision Statement

Reach Up!  Reach In!  Reach Out!

Reach Up to God for a vision for our congregations future.
Reach in to discover the talents and resources (prayer, presence, gifts, and service) we have in our membership.
Reach out to our community and the world in mission and ministry.

A Welcoming Congregation

Our Church was the first church in the UMC San Antonio district to become a  "Welcoming Congregation" Church.
Welcoming congregations are a select group of United Methodist congregations nationwide that meet criteria that includes
embracing newcomers and providing opportunities in discipleship.
Congratulations to everyone as this achievement could not be accomplished without the help of the ENTIRE congregation!

Our History

Floresville United Methodist church began in 1875. The current Sanctuary was built in 1942 and is surrounded by beautiful stained glass windows. The Education Wing was built in 1954 when more classroom space was needed.  The current Parsonage was built in 1962.  The Sanctuary was remodeled in 1969.  The Fellowship Hall (with classrooms and stage) was built in 1997 and is used by the church for Sunday School classes, committee meetings, potluck lunches, fund-raisers, an annual dinner theater, and Vacation Bible School.  The Hall is used by the community for receptions, gatherings, and community club meetings.  A major renovation to preserve the windows and create additional seating in the Sanctuary was completed in 2007.
